A coming of age novel that was a breeze to read. However, that was because the novel felt like it didn’t have any substantial plot for digestion. The big “mystery” was a cancer relapse (which is hardly a plot twist).. and there seemed to be little character development on all the characters. It was very much focused on conrad’s moodiness, belly being this belle attracting new attention - very much like a twilight successor. I wonder if reading the rest of the books would change my views on this.
