Make Your Place: Affordable, Sustainable Nesting Skills by Raleigh Briggs

4.0

This had been on my list for a few months, but it wasn't in the library system. I happened to spot it at Fort Orange General Store in Albany and picked it up for $10. The whole thing is hand-written and the first two chapters were actually published as zines. It's really accessible, friendly, and conversational. I'm far from an eco-goddess, but I do want to shift towards more naturally-based health and cleaning products. Just reading the ingredients list on my bottle of Cetaphil (which is supposed to be really gentle) makes me nervous. This has some really easy ideas with minimal ingredients and ingredients I can grow myself (and probably already do). It's just a handy little reference book to keep around. There's even a section on gardening, which of course I love. If nothing else, it's a cute little zine-type book!
