The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez
adventurous
dark
medium-paced
4.5
- so many gorgeously constructed sentences depicting both beautifully human and horrendously human moments
- interesting mythos told in a “box within a box within a box” narrative that i personally enjoyed and thought was a sensible manifestation of some of the book’s themes regarding interconnectedness and mutual influence of time’s subjects
- would re-read even if just for the sake of revisiting some beautiful words
Graphic: Ableism, Death, Violence, Cannibalism, Murder, and War
Minor: Child death
