I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this book! I have read all but one of Carley Fortune’s books, and this is by far my favorite. This is a “sequel” to her first novel, which I didn’t connect until midway through. That being said, Charlie and Alice are adorable. I didn’t have any qualms about them, and I thought they were well written. I can tell Fortune has grown a lot in her fiction writing since her debut. I have a soft spot for books set in little lake or beach towns in the summer, and that’s exactly what this gave me. No complaints from me, just not one of my all time favorites! Definitely a good, quick read.
