Jesus this was a difficult book to read! I was so bored the entire time. I am normally in love with Meyer's writing because it flows very easily and is compatible with my brain, but this was so strenuous to read. I was like 'wtf even is this' 90% of the time. This is the kind of book a teacher in high school would assign for the students to psychoanalyze the gender roles and expectations of the different characters. I read another review that said it seemed like Meyer Ctrl-Fed the pronouns and switched them and I agree. I got confused often because while Beau and Earnest are both male characters, they act so entirely feminine that I forget the character is supposed to be a man or even straight. It's the same thing for Jessamine and Joss. This book had so much potential but just fell flat. I would recommend that everyone just skip this book because it was a whole fat waste of time.
