In this book we follow Aida, THE defining rock star of her age, a woman with a devoted cultish fanbase. When Aida disappears into a complicated love affair, her fans are determined to find her, uncover her truths and own her once more. Away from the spotlight, Aida is reconnecting with Ehsan after a decade apart, and hoping to recapture the innocent, lost love of their youth. However this comes with strains of secrets and jealousies, and the past begins to blur with their present as they follow in the footsteps of tragic, mythic lovers before them.

this was one of THE best books i’ve read this year! A loose retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice’s tragic love story, Hasin’s writing is almost lyrical, it flowed so easily and every single line was beautiful, full of immersive, gorgeous descriptions, almost like poetry. Some parts were so intimate that I felt guilty for reading, like I was being let into someones upmost inner thoughts. The story was poignant and heartbreaking but just so mesmerising I could NOT put it down!!! The jump from Aidas perspective to Ehsan to then the fans was cleverly done and a nice little tip of the hat to the myths thematic origin of splitting into acts. (I definitely enjoyed act one more than act two but both were still incredible)

I shall definitely be rushing out to buy all of her other published works because she has became an instant favourite! If you are going to buy any book anytime soon I highly recommend!
