Freestyle: A Graphic Novel by Gale Galligan

4.0

Galligan captured the energy of dancing, but I wanted to know more about what the routine looked like. I think this would make a great streaming show/movie, but it came up short as a graphic novel. The lessons about friendship were great and young readers will identify perfectly with the pressures that family can put on students. I enjoyed the art and use of color, but dancing was such a big part of the story and I didn't get enough of that from the images.
