My new favorite classic! I loved it all, the excitement, the heartbreak, the subtle gaslighting going on as well as a mystery to solve while a recently widowed man remarries and he and his bride enter into their new life together. The writing style and the pacing were on point and the characters were developed chapter by chapter, revealing what you needed to know if you had actually met them at that time in the story. Rebecca, I felt was very well developed as a character, getting to know more and more about her and her true self. Mrs. Danvers, enough said! Ben, what's not to love? My heart just ached for him and the way he was treated by most people!
