I love the concept of a society where the strength of your power (given by the spirits) is determined by the length of your hair. Nyneve made for an interesting main character - at times she frustrated me a little but given her backstory and age, it’s completely understandable. I see a lot of potential in her. 

The world building was good and left a lot of ground to (un)cover in future volumes - I’m intrigued to know more about all the characters’ backstories and the history of this world. 

The art was also fantastic and lent itself to the magical storytelling elements. 

Definitely interested in reading more from this world. 

Finally the music from Mulan was absolutely playing through my head during that one scene…
