Jedi Search by Kevin J. Anderson

This book was a pretty solid Star Wars story, albeit a bit bland compared to the previous Thrawn trilogy or other Star Wars books. The plot in Kessel as well as the Imperial station were very interesting and made me want to keep reading. The only problem I really have with this book are the obvious plot devices. Luke’s students that he gets in this book are way too easily convinced to change their entire lives for a stranger they have never met until 5 minutes before. Also the ending with the “sun crusher” and it’s “impenetrable armor” were such huge plot devices it made me so annoyed having to read it. Otherwise it was a decent story, one were I will be continuing, hopefully with no obvious plot devices in the future. 3.4 out of 5 stars. (Rounded down to 3)
