Beneath the Surface by Emily McIntire
4.0
I'd be giving this book 5 stars if it weren't for the content warning in the beginning which encourages the reader to "go in blind." I wholeheartedly disagree with that sentiment, but I AM glad that she pointed out the much darker turn this book takes and provided CWs on her website.
This one is the darkest yet and gets a little more kinky/taboo than the other books, a fact that I enjoyed. I really loved Lily as FMC and everything she did to make a better life for her and her son. Her resiliency made her one of my favorite characters in the entire series. The ending happened a bit too quickly for my taste and was almost "too neat" but I understand wanting to give EVERYONE an epilogue and HEA.
