See Me

See Me | Nicholas Sparks

Being a Nicholas Sparks fan since my teens, Iโve been picking up his work from time to time to complete his catalog. This one was a good listen, but fell a little flat to me in comparison to his other work Iโve read.
Colin is actively focused on giving his second chance his all.. including going back to school, going to church, exercising religiously, and avoiding venues that he used to frequent. Enter lawyer Maria (at a time Colin is not looking for a relationship) and they challenge each other for what they want and need. Unfortunately the past does not always remain in the past, and demons begin to bubble to the surface.
See Me was an easy listen, but not Sparkโs strongest work. It captured my attention fairly easily and I was eager to learn more of the characterโs histories and how it shaped who they were. Unfortunately I wasnโt super invested in the romantic aspect, and I presume will be an easily forgotten story.
