The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West

3.0

edit 15/08/2016: I'm still thinking about this book and some of the messages it conveys so I decided to add an extra half star to my rating.

3.5 stars

At first I thought I'd made a mistake picking this up right after The Secret History. Those books are worlds apart. But luckily I still ended up enjoying The Fill-In Boyfriend a lot.
Beginning this book I was incredibly annoyed with our main character, Gia. Which was the point. She was supposed to be shallow and annoying. That was the point of her character development. Which I really liked by the way.
The incorporation of social media and its impact on people nowadays was very relevant and some points made were quite interesting.
Obviously the main reason why I wanted to read this book in the first place was the fake dating trope present in the story - and it was good. I loved the tension building up between Gia and the love interest.
