Dead City by Joe McKinney

3.0

This book is definitely one for zombie lovers. As a zombie fan myself there were certain aspects of the book that I loved for example I liked that 99% of the people our main character Eddie met ended up dead because that seems very realistic to me. I mean seriously it’s a zombie-ridden city of course all of the people aren’t going to survive and a lot of zombie novels most of the main characters do survive and I hate that. So that’s would made Dead City original.

I can’t really say much about the character’s as Eddie is literally our only main character. Everyone else is secondary and are hardly in the novel at all. However I think Eddie was an okay main character. He was very serious and sometimes that made him very boring personally I think he should have been a secondary character rather than a main.

The plot is very fast-paced with loads of action packed scenes, full of violence, guts and blood. The perfect amount for a zombie novel. However the ending REALLY disappointed me, like seriously I thought it was a joke. That made the book lose a star in my rating scale and another star was taken off because the author killed of my favourite character and that really pissed me off.

Overall I would still recommend this book to people but I would tell you to prepare yourself for one of the worst ending’s ever. This book gets 3 out of 5 stars.
