How can I start describing this book?
This review is mostly to myself because I cannot have an objetive thought over this book. My story and Darcy's is in many ways similar and maybe a lot of readers with a hard past and a good guy friend -who also happens to be your crush- can relate.
This book, through Darcy's story and personality brought to life the words I had never been able to express. Books have made such and impact on me and have also taken care of me since I was 8 years old, now, 15 years later they're still my home and nobody had ever described this feelings as accurately as this author.
I'm so grateful for having found this book, and in this specific time, when I'm working through therapy many issues that Darcy goes through during the book. I kid you not my therapist has tried several times to make me accept all this feelings, actions and life events that are part of my story but hasn't been able to make my stubborn ass do so... and I'm happy to inform you this book gave me my fair amount of slaps on the face.
It inspired me so much to see a character with similar characteristics as me that finds her way and gets through every single thing, that gets to live her own happy ending, that gets to accept herself, and savor life.
Cheers to this beautiful book and this author, I hope that the next time I read this book I can come back and tell you that as Darcy, I've found my way.
