i would like to preface this by saying i love everything that ali hazelwood comes out with. this was no exception. i knew absolutely nothing about chess going into this book and honestly i still know nothing, but the analogies used between the characters’ lives and chess and moving pieces was beautiful.
if you’re looking for spice, do not come here!!! this is a young adult novel and the spice is closer door. other than that, nolan was freaking adorable and while frustrating at times, i loved mallory.
