Simulated: A YA Action Adventure Series by Nova McBee

3.0

The books are not trying to be realistic anymore (were they ever?):
Her brain literally divides into two and can work on two things at once.

(I don’t think that’s how you use “literally” but ok.)

There seems to be a lot of tech for the sake of it, because most of it isn't that relevant or logical. At some point, we get this: “the Bluetooth nano-tech can hack”. Yeah. The dust can hack stuff.

I predicted the plot twist as soon as the relevant parties appeared. Another thing that didn’t make a lot of sense was that
Kai’s tag gets turned off when he is kidnapped, and then suddenly in the middle of his captivity it gets turned on again and the main characters can find his location again. How did that happen? And it never even gets explained how Kai got caught, what want wrong, and why they were torturing him.

But at least the main character conmmunicates with people instead of staying silent. Thank you Nova McBee. Then she ruins it all at the end by
literally drugging Kai, having him admit his feelings for her and his future plans, then making the decision to leave him “for his own good” without asking his opinion. Girl what is wrong with you.

I love the main character's dad. I only want good for him. Another cute part was the friendship between Mandel and Digits. There were a lot of funny and sweet moments between everyone. But. Why is one character named Noble. Who does that to their child?
