"..it's ok to be afraid. It's ok to have second thoughts. It's ok to question everything you've ever known. It means you are searching for truth, searching for what brings you joy, searching for the real you and the power within. You aren't a bad person, or a terrible daughter, for making your own decisions and choosing your own thoughts. If anyone tells you otherwise, it's because they want to control you and you've taken away their power."⠀

Morgan Gauthier, A Song of Shadow and Starlight⠀

✨ A Song of Shadow and Starlight by Morgan Gauthier is a fantastic fantasy that left me with a major book hangover and also wanting to watch The Princess Bride for some reason? It must be the kidnapping gone wrong, enemies to lovers, slow burn romance and found family aspects of the story! ⠀

Shaye is such an interesting character and I love how much she progresses throughout the book. Her growth and the change in her confidence is wonderful to see! Her interactions with the three brothers are so great but I adore her and Atlas together. They made me think of Rory and Jess from Gilmore Girls with their quips and pokes. Nyx is my favorite brother. I couldn't get enough of his goofy, flirtatious attitude and I would totally read a book that was just about him. I think Finn and Eris are soulmates and I definitely want to see where things go with them too! ⠀

I'm so glad I got to read this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series.
