White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo
5.0
As a white woman, I make an effort to understand my privilege in the world and show respect and understanding to those who do not share the same privilege. This book truly helped me develop a better understanding of what racism actually is, and helped me confront my own racist tendencies that all white folks exhibit, despite trying to be a “good person”. This book delves deep into racism and it’s effect on society. I highly suggest this book for every white person to read. I still have a lot of work to do in becoming a better ally for people of color, and part of that is recognizing that as a white individual I have racial bias and one of the most important things is to recognize that, be open to learning how to be better.
