The Homewreckers by Mary Kay Andrews

3.0

I'm a big Mary Kay Andrews girl, but this was not one of my most favorites reads of hers. She does a good job of blending romance and mystery together, and I love her wittiness. However, this southern chick-lit novel didn't meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I didn't love it as much as I was hoping to.

The romance was cute, and the people that you think are going to end up together do end up together, but I needed more. My main issue with the book was that we had all the players and then boom- they're together. There was no sizzle. There was no build up. It kind of just happened.

The main attraction in this book, in my opinion, is the the mystery behind the old house Hattie and her team are restoring for a new television show and all the secrets that start to come out.

If you liked this book, and maybe even if you didn't, I would definitely recommend giving "Hissy Fit" and "Little Bitty Lies" a try. Those are the two books that turned me into a Mary Kay Andrews fan.
