Tourist Attraction by Luna David, Honey London
5.0
5/5, this book was great and helped me out of a slump!
Tropes and Elements:
- Age-gap
- Daddy/boy
- There was only one bed
- Fast-paced love
Now, this book has elements that are common in Daddy/boy books, but I think it really flourished under the writing of Honey London and Luna David. For one thing, both character’s voices were very much distinct from each other. Even if I didn’t remember who’s chapter it was, it was clear to me who I was reading about. There were no grammatical errors or other mechanical issues that I could tell, it was clearly well-edited.
The pacing of the book is falling in love in a week - not quite insta-lovey, but it all made sense to me in this being a vacation fling romance. It felt natural, it felt sweet. The ‘there was only one bed’ trope was actually something I haven’t read myself yet in a book so I was excited for it. It didn’t feature a main plot point but it was cute nonetheless. I enjoyed the way the epilogue and it’s time jump noted for us the pacing of their relationship going forward, and it was natural and healthily done. Not ‘we fell in love in a week let’s move in!’, but spending time actually dating before merging lives together.
Character wise, my favorite was Ollie. This is because Ollie was fucking adorable hello? However, this is the third Daddy kink book I’ve read with the MC being named Ollie. Maybe we need to find other cute boy names.
