I didn't like this one as much because the plot wasn't tight enough for me. I stand by my earlier claim for book 1 that it would be better served as one book with a more coherent villain journey and tighter plot. However, there is lots to like here - the author's version of familiar fae tropes is one of my favorite I've read, the familiars are a delight, and the mechanics of how things work in this world are interesting.
