I had so much fun with this (audio) book. I wouldn't even have needed the romance, I think this book would have worked perfectly with "just" the friendship focus.
Different religions are explained here and while the male main character is an atheist and the female main character is super religious, the main focus was on the characters being able to believe in what they want to believe, without describing any religion as superior to another. Kinda hard to put it into words, but yeah it was a fun high school book with the added dimension of it being a catholic school and struggling with that.
