I liked reading this book. So many strange things happen that flip you back and forth from present-day MC POV to historical Russian great-grandma POV. Russian sensibilities were new to me and helped me not completely get fed up with the self-sabotaging tendencies of the MC. 
All in all an interesting read. Not sure that I would recommend it to others.
