Remote: Office Not Required by David Heinemeier Hansson, Jason Fried

4.0

Great summary of remote working - benefits and pitfalls to look out for both from the perspective of being a remote worker and managing a remote worker. As someone who operates in an environment that supports remote working, I was reading this as a consolidation/validation exercise, which the book did well, but I can see how this book would be even more beneficial for someone who is right at the start of their remote working journey.

The formatting of the book made reading it feel effortless. The authors have a very conversational style when putting their opinions and thoughts across, and the imagery throughout really helps to break up the content so that you don't feel bombarded by instructions on how to make remote working successful; they also help with the idea that remote working isn't something to be scared of, as they give a light tone to the content.

Would recommend to anyone who is researching the idea of remote working, or as a way of keeping those already working remotely on track for success.
