So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens

I loved this concept - what happens after the bad guy is defeated? How do the logistics, the trade routes, the people, recuperate? It's a view so few epic fantasies provide, it was refreshing to see.

But, the painfully obvious and idiotic miscommunication trope and mutual crushes that were so in your face but they can't see it....it was painful. It was a bit overly drawn out and ultimately overshadowed the more interesting plot of how to rebuild a nation and beat a curse.

That said, I did still very much enjoy it. The characters were fun, if a bit shallow - the story was funny and enjoyable. It wasn't anything overly deep, but was quick and easy. I think most fantasy readers would enjoy this as a palate cleanser between heavier, more political and traumatic, reads!
