I was very interested to see how the second book in this duology ended. The characters in the first book made some serious mistakes, so I was curious to see how it would play out here. It was fun to have all four of the main character's POVs here. I usually don't like endings to series as I find they wrap up too quickly, are too drawn out, or have some other defect. I thought the author did a great job exploring the world and the characters and finishing out this duology.
I thought the character growth was well done. Some of the characters' choices were not ones we could condone and certainly aren't likable. Compulsion is always a difficult trope. However, in the world the author created, there were no good choices, only calculated ones--at least in some of the characters' minds.
