Carsick: John Waters Hitchhikes Across America by John Waters

3.0

Huge complaint about the structure of this book - over half of it is comprised of two "novellas" where Waters imagines the best hitchhiking experience possible and then the worst. It's very akin to the lists of '101 Things I Love' and '101 Things I Hate' in the sublime [b:Crackpot|1975969|Crackpot|Ron Goulart|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-6121bf4c1f669098041843ec9650ca19.png|2914332], but those worked because they were short and condensed.

The actual story of his hitchhiking is much more interesting that the imagined. Full points for those sections of real life.
