Speaking of Summer by Kalisha Buckhanon

This is an incredibly difficult book to review in a spoiler-free way, but needless to say this isn’t a literary thriller as it is blurbed to be. There are a lot of complex issues that this narrative grapples with, but I found the plot so up and down I struggled to maintain momentum. The “twist” was incredibly clever, and I think it was unravelled and explored reasonably well. Overall, a good read but not one I think will stay with me.
