This was a beautifully written book that I tore through. I struggled a bit to connect to the characters, and at first I thought this was because of the many  changes in narrative perspective in such a short book, but I think it's actually part of the author's art: a huge theme of the book is that humans are fundamentally unknowable, what we keep from each other. So it makes sense that we as readers are also held at arms length.
