Merciless by Willow Winters, W. Winters
4.0

My second time through, and my review is the same. I love this world and it would have been a 5 without the grammar and time line issues.

So this is my second dive into the Cross Brothers and the Merciless World books and I am loving it.

This is Carter and Aria's story. Carter is a hard one to like. As the head of the family he is the person who has to be the hardest and strongest no matter what. His family depends on him being the one everyone fears and he does that in style. He takes Aria and keeps her captive in a cell for a couple of weeks hoping to break her and use her in his plans for war and vengence. He puts her through physical and emotional abuse to get her to break.

Aria is part of the underworld and has been isolated, alone and scared most of her life, but has a strength to her that is holding on despite her situation. She is a very likable character.

As this first chapter of their story unravels there are a lot of twists and questions left unanswered and all I want to do is dive in and unravel them. Good start to the series.

However I couldn't give this book a five as much as I would have like to do. The problem I have is the time lines, story errors and grammar errors. Usually I give books with these problems a way lower score. The only reason it got a 4 is that I loved the characters. But come on, pay attention. Get an editor that makes your story shine!!
