The Girl Who Drank the Moon
by Kelly Barnhill
I absolutely adored this book. It’s the kind of story that feels like a classic fairy tale while also being something entirely its own. The writing is beautifully lyrical, the world is rich with magic, and the characters—especially Luna, Xan, Glerk, and Fyrian—are so wonderfully developed.
I loved how the story weaves together themes of love, sacrifice, and the power of stories themselves. There’s this deep undercurrent of emotion that sneaks up on you, and by the end, I found myself unexpectedly moved. Also, Fyrian? Pure joy.
If you love whimsical, heartfelt fantasy with layers of depth, this one is absolutely worth the read.
