It seems that Meyer is one of those novelists that makes me bring her book with me everywhere I go to fit in a little reading time. I don't know what it is about her stories that make them so interesting, but she writes some serious page-turners.
Meyer claimed that this was an adult book, and though adults will surely enjoy it, I felt like her writing style in The Host was almost identical to that in the Twilight books. By no means was this a difficult read. Generally I find that novels that convey a big "lesson" can seem fake and pushy, so this book didn't interest me at first. Don't judge it though, until you have read it! :) It gets going fairly quickly.
