3.5 stars. this book had much more melodrama than I expected but it was still quite good. Poor Julia... by the end

she deserved a long vacation in Italy. She was betrayed on so many fronts... I'm so glad it was not her brother but still it would be agonizing to learn all the crappy things about her husband

. I didn't really care for Brisbane... I mean comparing him a bit to Heathcliff seems right on.
