Winning Ugly: Mental Warfare in Tennis--Lessons from a Master by Brad Gilbert, Steve Jamison
informative
medium-paced
2.0
I've been a tennis player for over 20 years and people have been recommending this book to me for at least the last decade. There are some occasional helpful tips throughout, but this book isnt as relevant to a modern tennis player as I'd been led to believe. Much of the information is outdated, I found Gilbert's tone to be quite arrogant, and as a woman, felt like this handling of women's tennis was (predictably) misogynistic.
If you're new to tennis, you might find some of the content helpful, but this would be advice better suited to a list style article than a full length book.
