Not as good as the first. Pacing off.

THANK YOU Demi for writing a short recap of the previous book at the beginning of this one. Even though I read this immediately after the first one, a lot of times I find myself forgetting what has happened in the preceding books and have to look it up. Please keep doing this. I appreciate it so much and I know others do as well.

This is the first book that I have bought and I don’t know how long (thanks Libby and KU). I’m not disappointed in this book, but I was a little underwhelmed. The pacing was off. It was hard to get through a big portion of this book. Then the ending felt somewhat rushed and ended at an odd place.

0 - 25% - exciting, like the first book.
25 - 65% - dragged on. I feel like this part could have been condensed.
65 -100% - improved. More happening.

If you’re struggling getting through this book when the rating gets tedious,, it does get better later on. I still look forward to reading the Novella and next books.

Jonas is such a POS. I hope his brother haunts him or somehow comes back to life and kills him. He deserves a worse death than an avalanche. It’s his fault his brother died. He’s the one who ran into the forest after Eisa instead of protecting his brother’s flank. He drugged a recovering addict after she opened up about it, and then subjected her to torture and potential rape after locking her up, fully knowing they were going to kill her
. He deserves so much worse. I hope he didn’t actually die and that she gets her vengeance.
