The Read-Aloud Family: Making Meaningful and Lasting Connections with Your Kids by Sarah MacKenzie
4.0
This book has opened my eyes to sooo many facets of the work that is raising a reader. I’m not a parent and I think while this book is geared toward parents, aunties, friends and really anyone who knows and loves a little one should read this.
Personally, I want to be the auntie who always gives books for presents and who reads to my friends’ kids. This book discusses everything from why it’s important to read to children to tips to reading to kids under 3. There’s also a great book list for various ages especially geared toward reading aloud to kids. In addition, the author has a chapter dedicated to discussing books with children without sounding like an interrogator!
Even parents whose kids are already readers will benefit from reading this book. Have I mentioned that it is such easy-to-read non fiction?! It is!
