Do No Harm by Jack Jordan

4.0

I almost gave this a five stars just for how engaged I was with this book but I had to be realistic and realise there were few flaws. Only minor ones but that's ok because no book is perfect and this book made me forget it had them through most of the read.

It was wonderfully written, very thought provoking and fast paced. The writer did an amazing job with the research that went into this book and did an even better job with creating an atmosphere of pure suspense.

The only issues I did have was the fact that I felt the ending was a tad rushed.

I felt we could've explored Anna's and Zacks feelings a little more. Maybe a time skip would've been necessary to see how the events of the book truly affected them both because although the ending implies that the future is uncertain, I also would've liked to have seen just how uncertain it could become as well as see Anna grow into a better character.

I feel like her development kept on being interrupted every time she relayed actual human emotions and then would cover it up. I wanted to see her actually feel something for what she did and I think exploring Zack's indifference would've been a perfect execution for her to have gotten that final development of character growth.

Not to say from a readers point of view that I couldn't see all the turmoil she went through in the book. She was very emotion throughout but Anna by the end still has the cold exterior she exhibits all throughout the book and I definitely think that's regardless of the things that happened throughout the book that she still didn't let go of that coldness.

Another issue I had is that I also felt like Damien should've had one pov to understand his character a little better as well as explore the potential repercussions of his actions.

Still regardless of my issues I feel this book was still gripping and entertaining and a thriller worthy of the shelves.

I will be excited to read more from Jack Jordan.
