This book is even paced, I would say. It's not slow or boring but there aren't very surprising plots, twists or turns. At least in my opinion. This book is very much focused on politics.

But I loved the worldbuilding and the characters so much and it was worth taking my time to read and enjoy this story. I'm excited to continue this series.
