The premise was very cool, but the science, plot, and characters were a major let down. Pleistocene Park sounded delightful, especially as someone who loves Jurassic Park. However, the author couldn’t write a well-developed woman even if you held a gun to his head. The female lead was constantly mentioning her weight, even in tense life or death situations. All other women are barely mentioned by name. Terribly similar to the often-referenced Jurassic Park, in so much as Crichton also couldn’t write convincing women.
