I think I can sum up my whole review into one sentence: This book was not for me.

If I’m being honest, I kind of don’t understand the hype with this one. Rowan was the literal worst. But Idk, maybe it’s just me, but when someone is that toxic and that much of a jerk (to put it nicely😆), I’m going to distance myself immediately and avoid them at all costs.

This is where Zahra comes in. Rowan is her boss and while he’s also the literal worst boss, it was hard to buy the way Zahra talked to him. I’m all for standing up for yourself but also keeping it respectful. I feel like her actions wouldn’t have gone over well in real life. But I also understand it’s for the plot, and that’s why I think this book just wasn’t for me.

I settled on giving this 3 stars for 2 reasons: I finished it and there were a few cute moments (absolutely loved Zahra’s younger sister Ani) that made me smile.
