shama_thoroughlyfantasy 's review for:
Marriage & Masti
by Nisha Sharma
medium-paced
Did it have the potential to be a 5 But it wasn't. Not for me at least.
read?
Yes
The way it started, it was a little bumpy but I liked it and my expectations rose. Maybe that's why I was disappointed by the time I finished the book
I did like the sweet gestures made by the MMC. And how supportive he was.
There were a few things that got on my nerves. I understand that India's tradition should be explained to the readers as all may not know about it but making the main character seem clueless about her own culture didn't make sense to me. Like wdym she doesn't know what happens in navratri and diwali and needs her" married" friends to explain it to her. Wasn't she home during those festivals and watching her mom perform anything?
And also the fact that married women were pin pointed so many times as an elite club kinda got on my nerves
And the way Deepak's personality did a 180 gave me whiplash!
How did he go from a shy, nervous guy who couldn't even talk to his wife about the time they slept together in one bed for a week go from this to spanking her and suddenly becoming an exhibitionist all of a sudden
Also the way 'romance' was thrown around made me cringe. ' trying to romance you', ' if he romance me like that... Nope, not for me
