rosieclapp 's review for:
The Fellowship of the Ring
by J.R.R. Tolkien
adventurous
challenging
funny
hopeful
inspiring
lighthearted
relaxing
medium-paced
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
It's so difficult to write a review for a book that's so precious and just a masterpiece. I love his writing style so much! the world building is totally unreal. I've never felt so immersed in a fictional world. everything is so well thought out and explained. I thought I was going to struggle with the old-english language, as I did struggle a little bit with the hobbit but I flew through this book. the only part I kind of struggled with, while I loved it, is the old forest and tom. once they got to Rivendell I was so interested!! so for that part I wish we got more time with the fellowship. all the characters are so likeable and cool, especially loved Legolas' and gimli's , and aragorn's and frodo's relationship. I'm so so looking forward to the rest of this series, but also never want it to end ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
