Melissa Foster’s “Love, Lies, and Whiskey” is Doc Whiskey’s story, and what a story it is! There’s pain, angst, betrayal, secrets, lies, drama, and so much more, and it made for a fantastic read.
This book tells the tale of Doc and Juliette, the woman he fell in love with as a teenager and never got over. Doc and Juliette’s story was very intense, and it was raw, gritty, and emotional in a way that instantly captured my attention.
There were a lot of misunderstandings, especially when it came to the truth about what separated Doc and Juliette back when they were teenagers. I won’t spoil anything, but that entire part of the plot was filled with so much angst and anger, and it was written in such a beautiful way.
I’ve always loved Melissa Foster’s writing style, and “Love, Lies, and Whiskey” was no exception! I loved Doc and Juliette, both as a couple and as individuals, and the way they come together to make things work for their fifteen year old son, Lucas, was so well-done. I highly recommend!
