Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (novel), Vol. 1
by singNsong
I am so happy to be reading the original novel of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint! I've been a long-time fan of the manhwa of this series, and it's really exciting to see the original material translated to English for new readers to enjoy! In the first volume, we're introduced to our main character, Dokja Kim--a boring office worker who spends his free time obsessively reading webnovels. But when his favorite story becomes real life, Dokja has to do his level best to survive in an apocalyptic Korea using his knowledge of the plot. Most importantly, he has to avoid his favorite character, an overpowered terminator type who will likely kill him if they ever were to meet...
This is a great apocalyptic thriller, with lots of action and plenty of video game references. The novel gives more background information than the webcomic, which adds a layer of depth to the characters that I appreciated in this iteration. My only gripe is that now I want volume 2 ASAP! But like Dokja, I will have to survive until the next installment, or the next cliffhanger at least.
