The Vaster Wilds
by Lauren Groff
Very on the fence about this book. On one hand it was beautifully written. Everything was so visceral, it felt like you were right next to the main character. On the other hand, the writing was quite fluffy. Main plot points were well hidden and I found myself constantly having to go back and reread sections.
It’s a depressing read, yes. But it’s also a great example of the human drive for life. At the same time, not very much happened within the story. The main character takes a long and arduous journey and relives her past, and that’s it.
