It’s hard to explain what I thought, honestly. I thought it was great, the Victorian vibes ate and the characters were top notch.

I think my main issues were with the plot, surprisingly. I didn’t like Harrow’s emphasis on getting Gideon to sleep with Rune, it makes sense in the story but I’m just personally not a huge fan of the situation in general. Killing off Alex also just felt like a convenient way for the author to remove a love interest so the main focus would be entirely on Gideon.

I did enjoy the magic system quite a lot, I thought the way it functioned was amazing and it made sense, it was easy to follow. 

Good book!
