Updating to 5 stars for the reread.

This is the first book of Adalyn Grace I've read, and I'm awestruck.

I know some people struggle with 3rd person, but I loved every second of this writing. I've rated this as 4.5 stars because ✨vibes✨ but also because it hit every range of emotions for me.

Signa shows growth throughout the story. I felt for her as she struggled with her love interests. I adored Sylas as her confidant and constant for her at Thorn Grove. I was overly intrigued by Death and his shadows. (There's no shadow smut; it's YA, for gods sake. Jeez. Calm down lol) The interactions between Death and Signa were reminiscent of Addie LaRue but not in a way that screamed imitation by any means, but I loved Addie just like I've come to love Signa.

Anyway, I'd say this is worth checking out if you're a fan of gothic, mystery, paranormal fantasy vibes. (especially the audiobook).

"I believe I have always been yours, Death. As you were made for me, perhaps I was made for you."
