This book is touted as a heart-warming Korean sensation, and it completely lives up to that hype.

Full disclosure, I went into this book with practically no idea what it was about; also believing it to be a fantasy novel around a bookshop. That cannot be further from the truth, and that's totally okay. This book felt like a warm hug; it felt like I walked into the bookshop, found a small table, got a cup of coffee, and just listened to what was going on around me. I tried to read this slowly, because I didn't want it to end, it was that good.

This book centers around Yeongju who opens this bookstore because it's her dream, but she's never run a bookstore and she's going through some things. As time progresses, there are more people that become permanent fixtures in the bookshop and you learn more about them and why they keep coming back. Each person is trying to get something out of the bookshop, whether that be an escape, a job, acceptance, a direction in life, etc. The characters become like a family and their journeys are so sweet. I can't wait to read this book again and again; highly recommend!
