You by Caroline Kepnes

5.0

This is a binge book. I’ve officially had it shelved for over a month and yet it’s 3:36 AM on a weekday and I had to read 150+ pages because I couldn’t stop.

There is simply nothing out there like You. The elusive second person, the bipolar narration, the winding sentences and sharp corners and lush, vivid descriptions.

It’s good. It’s made-me-angry-with-the-murderous-sociopath good. It’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s fake, but Joe commands attention and grips you by the throat.

If you like thrillers, unreliable and off their rocker narrators, bookstores, or just plain weird reads, this one’s for you. I’m thankful I found a book that could keep me up until 3:36 AM again. It’s been too long.
